I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a security blanket, some people have a physical blanket, mine’s not but I have one. My dad told me to leave it at home this semester, I’m sure it was one of those things that was half joking/half serious, since I am nearly 20 and I still bring it a lot of places with me. It’s one of those things, that if I’m brave I’ll pass it down to my kids, or maybe it will sit in my closet just incase I ever need it.
I think it’s one of those things that you have as a kid and even if you don’t depend on it all the time anymore you have it just in case, and it’s that just in case that you need it around. For me, as a kid, mine was there when I cried. It was something I could hold onto when I was upset, especially upset with my parents or if I just didn’t want to talk about it, could just hold it and cry. Grossly, (this is how we know I have no boundaries) I would suck on it’s ears, rightfully giving it the name Chew Bunny. Gross, I know. I think it really helped me though, just for comfort. I could take it to sleepovers with me, even if it stayed in my bag the whole time, it was there incase I needed it. I sleep with it every night at college because I like to cuddle and it’s something to cuddle with. I think it’s okay though for anyone honestly, a taste of comfort, even if you don’t need it.
Okay, this picture is so gross, you can see the stains from just being old already. He’s been washed a lot over the years already. A security blanket is okay everyone, don’t be ashamed. Heck, I showed you my ratty bunny that I would say no one really knows about, well now they do. Maybe I’m just trying to justify my own oddities, I don’t care! Let me know if you have a security blanket in the comments!
P.S- I’ve been seeing these really cool like signature things where it looks like they wrote it, does anyone know how I can do that???
