My New Favorite Quote

*Warning Contains Bachelorette Spoiler*

Late night post because it’s how I watch The Bachelorette. So I’m just casually watching and Ian Thomson literally freaked out about how great he is, which was not only hilarious but a great life lesson.

“I am an enigma and who I am is a gift you unwrap for life.”

So this is my new favorite quote. Like I’m not going to lie, I laughed for like a whole ten minutes and replayed it 30 times on my DVR because I thought it was that funny. After I really listened to it though, like it makes sense. I mean like if you look at his reaction, it wasn’t really appropriate, but like in other, everyday circumstances, I think it’s great.

Like he basically freaking out about how Kaitlyn doesn’t give him enough time, but like give her a break man, you aren’t God’s gift to the world like you think, a lot of the guys there were a lot more attractive than him, and she cannot take all of her time and give it to him, his expectations of the experience were way too high, claiming he could be the The Bachelor of the world, which is a pretty interesting concept, but whatever.

However, like I think that it’s important to think that each individual is special. I mean, I guess when you are like getting married you unwrap this amazing person’s personality and all of their little idiosyncrasies.

I love the quote, I think it’s hilarious. If I were to make this a new mantra I think I would be setting some pretty high standards of treatment for myself. I don’t know. The more I think about it, the less I know what to think about it, well other than the fact that I still think it’s hilarious.

I tried to find a video of it, but there’s nothing on YouTube and on ABC’s website, but I will definitely try and find it tomorrow.

What do you guys think of the quote?

I think the quote is on one hand conceited (depends how it was used), but it also makes a good point. So many people try to chance others and don’t understand just how wonderful that person is. However, the quote can also be a sign that the person is conceited and thinks they’re the most amazing person around and is, like you said, God’s gift to women.

He used it in a very conceited way, which is why I thought it was so funny because he isn’t really that great. But out of context I think it’s a really interesting perspective to have.

Tell me what you want, what you really really want!
