Double Update

By the time you are reading this I will be in NYC, isn’t that cool? I’m currently setting up 6 blog posts because I don’t know if I’ll have time to write while I’m there. So let’s go over the past couple weeks.

As you know from yesterdays post I recently ventured to Boston with my friend Lindsay (don’t forget to check out the video, link in yesterday’s post). It was a grand old time. I’m not going to go into detail there because you already read all of that. So that week just had a lot of stuff going on as did this previous week. There’s just so much stuff to do and this week was rough just because I had to play the waiting game a lot which was awful. I hate the waiting game. I did get my free shirt from Jawbreaking which was awesome ( it’s featured in yesterday’s post). You guys should go checkout their website, loads of cool stuff and Sunday’s are Fundays so they have sales along with free shipping across the country. This is not a brand deal though, I wish it was that would be awesome. Anyway, back on track, not much else happened.

This week, I mean you know at this point that I’m in New York. I’m there for Model UN oh what fun. Hopefully it goes well, but we shall see. I had a ton to do yesterday before I left so hopefully it all pays off. After that I get back Thursday after classes and then Friday I have to go to my classes before I rush home for the weekend for Easter. I CAN’T WAIT! I miss my family. I just need to get home. I have to work Saturday and then go to mass Sunday for Easter and then to my grandparent’s for some meal, I’m not sure which one, I’m really out of the loop on details. I’ll get to see my family for a long time in a while and I can’t wait! I miss everyone  a lot.

Okay so that’s it, really short for two weeks but I can’t focus and I have a ton to do. This is also weird writing a day in advance and it’s confusing me. Thanks for reading! Wish my luck while I work during the conference.

XOXO,

Mary.

Midweekly Update, Breaking the Rules

Okay I promised you guys and update midweek since I skipped Sunday. I BROKE THE RULES AND I DON’T FEEL BAD! I tried to film a little dance here to upload for you guys to show how carefree I was being but it didn’t work so you’re just going to have to imagine it.

Anywho this past week was spring break and it was fairly uneventful. I called off work Monday because I was not feeling well at all. I don’t remember what else I did then to be honest, maybe I saw my friends. I know I saw them frequently. I’m actually having a very hard time remembering what day I did things so I’m just going to give an overview of what I did. I made pancakes for my work/high school friends Alex and Margaret one day, which is always nice to catch up with them. My friend Meag from school came and stayed with us for a few days and we went to the mall so she could get a dress for the upcoming dance. We met my dad at a local ice cream parlor for lunch and I had delicious french toast. I also visited my mom one day for lunch, which  feel bad for her because she only has a half an hour, teachers have it rough. Caspar Lee favorited my tweet, yeah that happened.  I did some work, but that’s about it. I also got a flatish tire, confused about that.  Oh wait I applied for Amtrak’s residence trips so I’m waiting to hear about that, I’m not very confident in my application piece I selected so I’ll let you guys know if I hear anything.

So I’m actually going to update you guys on what has happened since returning to school because even though its only been like two and a half days a lot has happened.  I got back Sunday evening and worked on a paper until midnight. I got woken up to a call Monday with a snow day, will it ever stop? I don’t know, freezing rain and more snow tonight. *Rolls eyes* Anyway, so I entered a contest for shopjawbreaking.com yesterday and I found out today which is awesome (go ahead and check them out guys). So Ally if you ever see this, thank you so much! Thanks Jawbreaking, love your clothes!  I also found out that my voxbox should be coming soon, and I can’t wait! If you don’t know what that is it will all be here in a few weeks and I’m really excited about that. I also found a normal roommate for next year! So that’s really lucky too. What else? I’m not sure.  Oh! I started applying for nanny positions for over the summer on care.com, so you know if that works out maybe I’ll have some new aspects on life and that could even affect some writing. I hope if I get one I can do some cool DIY tutorials and maybe even day trip ideas.  So yeah, that’s it on so far this week, good week so far.

What else do I have going on this week? I have a dance Friday, and probably a movie night Saturday since I’m worried to drive my car far. I guess I should explain why I was going to drive far, I was going to go visit my friend Alex. I swear every time I’m supposed to go visit her something goes wrong so I can’t. Hopefully I can get down there sometime in April. That’s about it, maybe taking some pictures for an upcoming post but I’m not sure yet.

Well this it for today guys.

XOXO,

Mary.

My Guide to Online Shopping

Well something I am obsessed with, especially at college, is online shopping. I would totally tell you about how much of a detriment it is to my bank account, but that’s a whole different story. So I know it’s far past Friday at this point but I actually went and hung out with people tonight so I think that’s excusable. Anyway, I could just share with you some places where I find the best online deals.

  1. AMAZON! They literally have everything you could possibly ever need. If you’re a college student you are eligible for six months free of Amazon Prime, andddddd you get it at half off when you have to start paying.  Amazon Prime is a fantastic invention that gives you free shipping on thousands upon thousands of items, and it only takes 2 days! It’s actually amazing. The best deals that I find here are usually on phone cases and bumpers for my iPhone 5. Maybe I’ll do an Amazon favorites next week with the best shops and such because I could go on and on forever.
  2. American Eagle/ Aerie. They have far better sales online and if you sign up for the sales there are lots of opportunities for free shipping, like right now just because it’s cold they have free shipping. You can also get coupons in the mail which include things like free underwear, which are very good quality and nice. I know these stores are typically pretty pricy, but the sales are usually pretty good and I think that the qualities of clothes are worth it.
  3. Etsy. Okay so yes, I know there are individual shops but I think that the overall site is overpriced. I wanted to get some bumper stickers for my laptop and when I had three in my cart it was priced far over $15 and to me that’s not worth it at all. I think it has some awesome things on it like handmade rings and vintage pieces but some of the stuff is not worth the cost to me. It’s fun to window shop but it’s rare that I actually buy stuff from the actual sight.
  4. shopjawbreaking.com. If you have the money, SHOP HERE. I go on their site sometimes and stare at all of the wonderful clothes and drool a little bit. I personally don’t have anything from here but I wish I did. My friends have some shirts and sweatshirts and they love them, and I’m super jealous.

Okay so that’s it for now because I want to go to bed because I am exhausted. Anywho I think we should have an adventure for tomorrow but we shall see.

XOXO

Mary
