Our Wedding

On Saturday, October 5, 2019, I married the love of my life.

After planning for a ridiculous amount of time, saving and spending a ridiculous amount of money, I FINALLY got to marry Joe.

It was an amazing day filled with love, laughter, tears, and pancakes (obviously our wedding had pancakes). Our great day wouldn’t have been complete without the help of our family, friends, and DIY projects.

Joe and I are very hands-on people. I like to craft and he likes to cook. Most importantly, he works in the wedding industry. Add these all together and we decided to take on A LOT of projects.

My personal favorite and biggest project was my brooch bouquet. My grandmother died when I was in high school, but I still wanted to find a way to honor her on our wedding day. My mom gathered a bunch of her old brooches, my Nonni found one to send to me, my dad and I went antiquing, and the COO of the company I work for even provided some for me.

I also made all of the bridesmaid bouquets. For those, instead of the traditional bouquet, I decided to make floral hoops. For these, I used metal hoops, sola wood flowers, and LOTS of hot glue.

These were a labor of love and loss of fingertips.

Last year for Christmas, I got a Cricut. I used the Cricut to cut vinyl for our signs, card box, bridesmaid robes, and other bits.

And of course, it wasn’t just me. Joe made our cake, my grandmother made our centerpieces, and my mom made out table numbers! My dad, Joe, and I also made the backdrop for behind our sweetheart table with plastic PVC pipe, gold spray paint, and LOTS of tulle.

So that’s our wedding in a nutshell! If you’d like a whole tutorial on any of DIYs, leave a comment and I’ll make it a goal this year!
